About the Journal

Journal of Health and Allied Sciences (JHAS, ISSN Print 2091-2579, Online 2091-2587) is an official publication of the School of Health and Allied Sciences Faculty of Health Sciences, Pokhara University, Nepal.  It is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal which is published biannually. The journal is available in both print and online formats.

The journal publishes the original articles, review articles, case reports, editorials, viewpoints related to, Health services, Public health, Nursing, Laboratory sciences, Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. It aims to provide a platform for researchers to publish their articles.

Submitted papers must be in technical English, suitable for scientific publication. All articles have to be original articles that have not been published elsewhere or are being considered for publication in other journals. All articles submitted will be peer-reviewed by experts. Receipts of the manuscript are duly acknowledged.

The journal has a very transparent and robust system for reviewing articles. Its editorial board included reviewers from Nepal and abroad. It also publishes articles from across the globe intending to contribute to the knowledge & practice of Public Health and health care.

Journal Ethics

We are committed to meeting and upholding standards of ethical behavior at all stages of the publication process. We follow the guideline produced by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) to provide guidelines for best practices to meet these requirements.

Manuscripts submitted to this journal should not have been published or under consideration for publication in any substantial form in any other publication. Journal of Health and Allied Sciences ( JHAS) allows to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allows readers to use them for any other lawful purpose. The author(s) are allowed to retain publishing rights without restrictions. The articles are published under the terms of the  Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) unless notified otherwise.

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is considered when someone copies another's theories, ideas, or statements without giving explicit acknowledgment to the contributors/ of the source document. It is unethical and stealing of intellects idea. JHAS does not accept the manuscript with plagiarism in any form. We have the following policy to minimize plagiarism and take specific actions if the contents are plagiarized. 
Manuscript submitted to JHAS must be original and not under consideration for publication in other journals simultaneously.  we strongly encourage the authors to acknowledge someone's views, ideas, and references.

Finding the Plagiarism 
We perform online plagiarism checking using free online plagiarism checker software ( e.g. https://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/) to check for plagiarism in all submitted manuscripts in the editorial review, before sending it to peer reviewer.  Manuscripts with some minor degree of plagiarism to a severe  degree are decided as follows: 

1. Plagiarism Offense Type I (Minor Offense): If less than two complete or part is plagiarized without significant data and no acknowledgments, then it is considered minor plagiarism offense. In this case, the authors are informed about plagiarism with reports and they are asked to resubmit after appropriate action. 
2. Plagiarism Offense Type II (Intermediate Offense): If more than two complete or <25% of the total content of the source document is plagiarized,  we consider it as an intermediate plagiarism offense.  In this case, the submitted article is rejected with the reason for rejection.

Journal of Health and Allied Sciences is published biannually by the School of Health and Allied Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, Pokhara University. Kaski, Nepal.

Publication Charge Policy
JHAS does not charge any fees for submission, article processing, publication, and reading. The priority will be given to the scientifically conducted research by developing countries authors to help their work visible to the scientific communities.

Ahead of Print policy
Articles published online under the Ahead of Print are considered published and these can be cited and quoted.

Scope of the Journal
Journal of Health and Allied Sciences is an opened-access, peer-reviewed journal which is published biannually by the School of Health and Allied Sciences, Pokhara University. It publishes original articles, review articles, case reports, editorials, viewpoints related to, Health services, Public health, Nursing, Laboratory sciences, Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. It invites quality research articles with special emphasis on original research findings that are relevant for developing country perspectives including Nepal.

The journal has a very transparent and robust system for reviewing articles with the help of the editorial board/reviewers which include eminent scholars from different countries. It aims to contribute to the knowledge & practice of Health care.  The journal is available in both print and online formats.

The print version and digital version of the journal is archived in the Central library of Pokhara University and School of Health and Allied Sciences, Pokhara University

Privacy Policy
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party. However, the email and phone number of the corresponding author will be made available in correspondence detail of the article, to make it available in a good faith that like-minded people e.g. researchers could contact them.

Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. JHAS allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles and allow readers to use them for any other lawful purpose, as long as the author and journal are properly credited, which ensures maximum dissemination and a wider impact of our publications.

Copyright Policy
The authors (or their employers) retain copyright in their work. The Corresponding Author has the right to grant on behalf of all authors to the JHAS and its licensees in perpetuity, in all forms, formats, and media to i) publish, reproduce, distribute, display and store the Contribution, ii) translate the Contribution into other languages, create adaptations, reprints, include within collections and create summaries, extracts and/or, abstracts of the Contribution, iii) create any other derivative work(s) based on the Contribution, iv) to exploit all subsidiary rights in the Contribution, v) the inclusion of electronic links from the Contribution to third party material where-ever it may be located; and, vi) license any third party to do any or all of the above.
